The Instructors

Evan -

My name is Evan I started the school a few years ago. I previously spent 13 years working in psychiatry, with people who have had breakdowns and suffer with bad nerves.

I soon realised when I started in this business, that nerves and fear play a big part in slowing the learning process down. I now use the experience I gained from psychiatry to help when I am teaching pupils to drive, no matter how nervous a person is, there is always a method that will make things that little bit easier to learn a new skill.

I wanted to make sure that the instructors in Elm Driving Academy are of a suitably friendly and approachable disposition, coupled with a professional commitment to pupil needs and structured teaching.

I personally love teaching people to drive, and the pleasure I get reminding them of their first lesson, the day they pass their test, is one that never wanes.

Driving is a skill for life, and you need someone who will go through things step by step with you, in a patient and thorough manner. I am able to do this with the help of the many diagrams I have at my disposal, coupled with simple clear explanations, and plenty of in car practice.

I don’t want you to just pass your test I want you to be a confident and careful driver, who can face the challenges modern roads present.

I teach in a Vauxhall Corsa CDTI which all my pupils seem to love driving. I do look forward to seeing you soon.

Sharon -

My Aim is to teach you the skills you need to get you through your driving test and more importantly become a safe driver. This will be taught at a suitable pace for your needs recapping on anything on which you have doubts, until you are confident that you can drive safely to a high standard. I have been a Driving Instructor for several years and it gives me great pleasure seeing people succeed at what is an important asset to their life style.

Ann -

Hi my name is Ann, since passing my driving test many years ago, I’ve always had a passion for driving, as without it I wouldn’t have been able to have done every that I have, from work to pleasure, driving gives you more independence and opens doors both professionally and socially.

However over the years I’ve realised how vulnerable you are with the ever increasing volume of traffic on our roads. So the need to keep yourself and others safe is vitally important. As a driving instructor, my aim is to teach you safe driving for life, and not just to get you through your test.

I am a very friendly, patient person and pride myself in my never shout, sympathetic attitude. I am very aware that every one is different, and some people may take longer than others when it comes to learning to drive. I feel that what is important is that we are both committed to achieve the goal at the end of your training, and that’s passing your driving test, so that you too can have many years of enjoyable, safe driving.

I look forward to meeting you soon, Anne
